Restaurant Cleaning: The Surfaces You Shouldn’t Neglect

Clean anything on a tabletop to ensure your restaurant cleaning is as efficient as it can be

In last week’s content, we briefly touched on the importance of restaurant cleaning. Now, we’d like to go into more detail on the subject. It wouldn’t be in Misty Clean’s true nature if we didn’t offer you some “food for thought.” Here are some surfaces that you should never neglect to clean in your restaurant.

Clean Those Can Openers

Can openers within restaurants play a significant role in food preparation. The contents inside of a can opener end up on the blade and handle, and can become a health hazard when left unclean. Even if you leave an unclean can opener on a surface for a short time, germs can spread. So make sure you thoroughly clean those blades.

Soda Dispenser Nozzles

Here is some food for thought. Whether your soda dispenser is accessible to customers or your employees, refill the drinks, you should strive to keep this area as clean as possible. Germs can accumulate around the dispenser nozzles, and quickly. Soda tends to be very sticky, meaning that any residue can stick. You can remove the nozzles diffusers from the unit and use a brush to remove any dried-on materials. Using a chlorine-based sanitizer is effective. You can scrub the surfaces with the sanitizer and also use it to soak the pieces.

Menus May Be One of the Germiest Surfaces of a Restaurant

Once restaurants open again, you indeed want to think about how often customers touch menus. While it may cost more money, investing in disposable menus may not be a bad idea whatsoever. Another alternative is laminating menus so that customers are not directly touching them. Vinyl or plastic menu covers also work. The determining factor is how often you change your menu. Make sure to sanitize your menus a few times per shift.

Anything on a TableTop

Anything that sits on a tabletop can become germy. Anything that people touch with their hands is a candidate for bacteria. That’s why constant handwashing, the use of gloves, and not touching one’s hands or face is essential. Restaurant cleaning is challenging, but it needs to happen. If you find it overwhelming to keep your restaurant clean and could use a little help, you can count on us. You can hire us weekly or more times as needed to ensure that your restaurant stays safe and sanitary.
