Deep cleaning a home is not the most exciting task, but it has to happen. Some cleaning tasks are easier to tackle than others. Washing dishes, wiping down counters, and brooming the floor are among the less-time consuming tasks. But if your oven is a fire hazard and your bathroom is a source for mold, it’s time to start deep cleaning. Here is part one of a guide on how to deep clean your home.
The Products You’ll Need
- Disposable rags, scrub pads, and towels
- One bucket for dirty and greasy water and another for clean, fresh water
- Your favorite cleaning product that cuts down on grease
- Dish Soap
- Disinfectant Spray
- Rubber Gloves
- An Abrasive Scrub Pad
- A Spray Bottle with Water and Vinegar
- A Scrub Brush
Deep Cleaning the Entire Home
You should dust and vacuum hard-to-reach ledges, windows, light fixtures, and above cabinets. Break out the step ladder and be careful as you clean all of the places that are usually too hard to reach or neglected during your regular cleaning routine. Descale the faucets and showerheads throughout your home with vinegar and clean out aerators. Descaling with vinegar is also a vital cleaning process regarding coffee makers. This process removes calcium deposits from metal. Other tips for deep cleaning your entire home include:
- Removing HVAC vents and washing them in the sink with warm, sudsy water
- Vacuuming window sills and tracks
- Eliminating bugs and cobwebs from window screens
- Wiping down ceiling fan blades
- Spot cleaning your carpet and upholstery
- Wiping away smudges and fingerprints on doors
- Wiping out and sanitizing trash cans, waste, and recycling bins
- Cleaning out the cushions and creases of sofas and couches
- Moving the couch to clean underneath it
- Wiping down cabinet faces
- Removing all the items in your cabinets and draws and giving it a good wipe down
