Bathroom Cleaning: A Simple Step-by-Step Guide Misty Clean
Bathroom cleaning is often a cleaning task that homeowners look forward to the least, but it has to get done.

Bathroom cleaning is often a cleaning task that homeowners look forward to the least. But it has to get done. It wouldn’t be in Misty Clean’s nature if we didn’t share with you some pretty useful cleaning tips and hacks. Of course, you could hire us to make your life easier. But in the meantime, here is a step-by-step guide on bathroom cleaning.

Step #1: Remove All of Your Towels and Products

We suggest that you clear all of the things out of your bathroom before you begin to tackle it. Most people move stuff out of the way as they go, but we suggest that you move all products out of your shower/tub and off the counter, take the rugs off the floor, and even remove your decorative towels. Trashcans should go as well. Launder your rugs, towels, or other washer-safe items.

Step #2:Dust and Sweep

Grab a duster with a long handle to remove dust or cobwebs that may be in corners, on light fixtures, and in your bathroom’s vents. If your bathroom has very high walls, then we suggest that you use a stepladder safely. After that, sweep to get rid of hair and debris.

Step #3: Apply A Cleaner to Your Shower and Bathtub

An all-purpose cleaner will suffice if you clean regularly. If not, and there are many bacteria buildup, then an acid-based cleaner will provide a more thorough cleaning. Don’t forget to apply cleaner to the shower track as well as the inside of your shower door if you have one. Let the cleaning solution soak.

Step #4: Use a Microfiber Cloth or a Sponge to Clean Other Surfaces

Now, spray the all-purpose cleaner onto a cloth or sponge and wipe down other areas in the bathroom such as towel racks, shelves, baseboards, doors, windowsills, and blinds. We recommend working in sections and starting from the bottom of the room to the top and left to right.

Steps #5 and 6: Finish Cleaning the Shower/Tub and Wipe Down Your Vanity

By this time, the cleaner that you used on the shower and tub should have done most of the work. You can now remove and wipe away any dirt and bacteria now easily and then put your products back. Don’t leave products soapy or with residue. Make sure to wipe them down as well. Next, clean your vanity. Make sure to get excess debris from soap dishes and your faucet. Clean the mirror in a tight “S” pattern from top to bottom to have fewer streaks and not deposit residue back onto the mirror.

Steps #7, 8, and 9

  • Clean your toilet with a wand that has preloaded, attachable disinfectant sponge
  • Mop your floor with a bucket filled with all-purpose cleaning solution and warm water
  • Put your laundered rugs and towels into the bathroom after the floor dries
