Welcome to part two of our guide on deep cleaning your home. A house has so many rooms and crevices that we couldn’t fit our entire guide into one blog. In part one, we focused on the cleaning products and tools that you need to deep clean your home. We also provided tips on how to tackle deep cleaning your entire house. Today, we’ll discuss the kitchen and bathroom. We know that deep cleaning is not fun, but you must get it done. Or you could hire Misty Clean, Inc. to take care of it.
Deep Cleaning the Kitchen
Before hitting the “self-cleaning” function on your oven, be sure to remove anything that’s flammable. Once all of the baked-on food is gone, you can wipe down the racks. Next, what you’ll want to do is remove the pot grates from your stovetop and soak them in hot, sudsy water. Do you have an electric oven? What you should do is remove or unplug the coils to make cleaning the stove less complicated. If you have a range or cooktop with a sliding tray that catches food, don’t forget to clean this part! Scrub down all surfaces and knobs with a sudsy sponge and use a wet rag to wipe up the residue. We also recommend that you remember to clean the hood fan and hood fan filter.
For your microwave, you can use lemon and vinegar to loosen up any tough stains. Glass cleaner is useful for cleaning the microwave face and keypad. In regards to your toaster, remove breadcrumbs because they are a fire hazard. Toasters have removable trays that make cleaning them an easy-to-do task. Here are some other helpful kitchen cleaning tips:
- Clean the rubber gaskets around your refrigerator door with sudsy water and disinfect them
- Throw away any expired items
- Disinfect your sink
- Use baking soda and vinegar to clean stains out of your dishwasher
How to Deep Clean Your Bathroom
Invest in a grout cleaner. White grout makes a bathroom look that much cleaner. Wash your shower curtain, and replace or clean your plastic liner when it gets filthy. Many people prefer to replace plastic liners because they’re relatively cheap. Plus, cleaning them can be challenging. Clean your toothbrush holders, and when you clean the toilet, don’t just pay attention to the inside of the bowl. Sanitize the base as well!
